Shashank Das is an Upright & Electric Bass player from Delhi, India. A Sandberg bass artist & scholarship recipient (Jazzcampus, Berklee, Holland). He has studied with renowned musicians such as Larry Grenadier, Neil Swainson, Mark Turner, Jeff Ballard, Jorge Rossy, Petros Klampanis, to name a few.
Some of his prominent sessions include playing with Shai Maestro, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Gil Golstein, Jazzaarau Cuban Spirit ensemble, Jazzcampus big band Charley Rose, Joao Bittencourt, Matteo Fraboni, Dan Costa, Aditya Balani, Pranai Gurung, Bhrigu Sahni, Jordan Johnson, to name a few.
Some of the better-known gigs he has played at include Open Hand Jazz Festival, Giants of Jazz Festival, Delhi, NH7 Weekender, India International Center, Max Mueller Bhavan, Oddbird Theater, Napoleon Hall Moscow, Gomad Festival, Abu Dhabi, Alliance Française De Delhi.
He has recorded for Netflix series 'Bombay Begums' & Amazon Prime series, Jonathan Wollengerger, Marco Ulstein, Anhad Foundation's 'Equal Sessions' (Folk fusion collaboration), Syncopation, Karan Mahajan, Ratnang Singh, Aashna Gupta. He has also been interviewed by 94.3 Radio One & CBA’s Den.
